Friday is usually a light day in the NHL schedule, and this Friday is no exception, with only five games on the schedule.
The good news is that all five teams have at least one team that will make the playoffs, including the second game of a two-game series between the two clubs heading into the postseason, the Boston Bruins and New York Islanders.
Both the B’s and Isles traded picks and playoff hopes. Taylor Hall and New York landed in Boston, adding Kyle Palmieri and Travis Zajac. The Bruins won the first game of the series, with Hall and Zajac scoring their first goals for their new teams. (Palmieri made amends for that problem in Sunday’s win over the Rangers).
Boston is currently in fourth place in the East Division, five spots behind the Penguins who are third and six spots behind the Isles who are second.
As the regular season comes to a close, it’s time to look at the playoffs and the teams that are in the running for the lottery for the 2021 NHL Draft.

The NHL uses a lottery to determine the order of the first round, so a team that finishes last is not guaranteed the first pick.
