Anaheim, California. (AP) – Devan Dubnyk made 34 saves for his 33rd of the season. In his return to the San Jose lineup, Thomas Hertl had a goal and an assist and the Sharks dominated the Anaheim Ducks 6-0 on Friday night.

The Sharks, who had 10 players contribute a goal or an assist, beat Philadelphia by six or more goals for the first time since an 8-2 win in October 2018.

Kevin Labank had two goals and two assists, while Timo Meyer and Evander Kane also contributed a goal and an assist. Erik Karlsson and Frederik Handemark also scored goals.
Gertl missed six games after being suspended at 24. February was named to the NHL’s COVID-19 team. The Czech center said he had headaches and fever for a few days after testing positive for the coronavirus.
Dubnyk, acquired in the postseason from Minnesota, barely challenged the Ducks, who suffered their first shutout of the season despite averaging less than 2.18 goals per game in the league. Dubnyk’s last shutout was on the 23rd. December 2019 against Calgary.
John Gibson missed five goals on 24 shots before being sent off midway through the third period. Gibson has a 5.24 goals against average in his last three games.
The teams will end the series on Saturday.
Gertl opened the scoring eight minutes into the game with a power play goal. Gertl’s shot hit the short side of the post before landing in the net through the back of Gibson for his seventh goal of the season.

Kane extended San Jose’s lead to 2-0 just 37 seconds into the second period when he took a pass from Brent Burns at midfield and put the ball in the net for his 10th goal of the season. This is the second time this season that Kane has scored in consecutive games.
The Sharks chased Gibson with three goals in a span of 3:18 in the third period. Karlsson scored a power play goal after 5:58, Meyer scored from the left faceoff circle with eight minutes left, and Labanck slid a wrist shot into the empty net after Gibson was out of position.
Five minutes before the end, Ryan Miller scored the equalizer for the guests.
FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS
San Jose’s Kurtis Gabriel and Anaheim’s Nicolas Deslauriers dropped the gloves midway through the first period. The fight took place after Deslauriers sanctioned a check from Gabriel Jacob Larsson at the corner.
Both players received five-minute penalties for fighting. It was Gabriel’s third game in five games since being called up from the minors.
