Bellator MMA returns to action Friday night with Bellator 255, highlighting a welterweight grand prix semifinal between champion Patricio Pitbull Freire and Emmanuel Sanchez.
The preliminary rounds (6 p.m. ET start time) can be viewed for free on Bellator’s YouTube channel, while the main card (9 p.m. ET) will be simulcast on Showtime and Fubo Sports, a separate channel owned by FuboTV.

Bellator Overview 255
Featherweight champion Patricio Pitbull Freire (31-4) and challenger Emmanuel Sanchez (20-4) will take on each other for the second time in the main event of the loaded card. Their fight on Friday night will be a rematch of their 2018 fight in which Pitbull was declared the winner via unanimous decision, and both fighters are looking forward to facing each other again.
Pitbull, for his part, admits that his opponent has gotten better, but he also feels that Sanchez hasn’t changed much. He’s still the same fighter, Freire said of Sanchez this week on MMA News. He seems to have a little more accuracy in his shots. He’s missing fewer punches than before, but he’s still the same fighter he was in our first fight.
After losing to Pitbull in November 2018, Sanchez says he took a lot from that loss and applied it to his future fights. He taught me a valuable lesson and I can’t wait to show him and the world what he taught me, Sanchez told BJ Penn. I’ve grown a lot since that fight. This loss has made me a better and wiser fighter. I’m smarter than that and I don’t feel like he’s changed much. He’s great, but the opponents he’s had so far have been no threat to him. With my style, my pressure, and what I did to him, I know I can stop this guy.
In other fights on the card, Usman Nurmagomedov (11-0), the nephew of famed UFC fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov, will make his Bellator debut against Mike Hamel (7-4), while Alejandra Lara (9-3) will take on Kana Watanabe (9-0-1) in a women’s flyweight fight. Tyrell Fortune (9-1) and Jack May (11-7) will also take on each other in an exciting heavyweight bout.
