Curtis Armstrong was born in Detroit, Michigan, on November 27, 1953. With his mother Norma (a teacher), father Robert (a Navy veteran), and sister Kristin, he grew up in a Catholic environment. Robert died of COVID-19 in May 2020, at the age of 92. Curtis graduated from Berkley High School in 1972 and went on to Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.

Armstrong first appeared on cinema in 1983’s “Risky Business,” and then in 1984’s “Revenge of the Nerds” as “Booger.” In a 2006 interview with The New York Times, “”I owe a great lot to that movie, and I enjoyed creating it,” Curtis remarked of the picture.
