Los Angeles – LeBron James and Anthony Davis will be standing on the platform in the middle of the preseason game against the Phoenix Suns. This is her first stint in the NBA as she won the championship in October, coach Frank Vogel of Los Angeles Lakers said Tuesday.
I plan to let AD and LeBron play for a few minutes in the first half, but only to get my feet wet, Vogel said by videoconferencing with reporters.
James, who turns 36 later this month, has signed a two-year, $85-million contract this season, while 27-year-old Davis has signed a five-year, $190-million contract to stay in Los Angeles, where the Stars will defend the Lakers’ title.
James and Davis both spent the first two preseason games against the Los Angeles Clippers at rest. The team reduced its workload after training camp began, just seven weeks after the Lakers defeated the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the NBA finals on the 11th. The month of October is open.
I just want to see them come out and try to find a rhythm. Familiarize yourself with your new teammates and try to find your rhythm. Every day we try to see how much work these guys put in after the shortest off-season in history, and it’s no different than the next two pre-season games.

The Lakers open the season a week later on the 22nd. December against the Clippers for hosting Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks on Christmas Day.
James told reporters that with the addition of Dennis Schroder and Marc Gasol as game makers in the off-season, he may not necessarily repeat his role as Lakers game maker in 2020-21 after leading the Championship in assists for the first time in his career last season.
James said in a video conference on Tuesday that every year there are reasons for what happens. So if I have to be the master of the ball and try to lead the league in terms of assists or make sure I’m at the top of the hierarchy, I can take that responsibility for every action. If our team doesn’t need it this year, that’s fine too.
On Tuesday, his charity, the LeBron James Family Foundation, in his hometown of Akron, Ohio, gave a big boost by announcing the initiative of Thirty-Three House. This project will create a holistic community development centre where families can find financial education, job training and sufficient space for group meetings – all under one roof.
We listen to our children, we listen to our families and their needs, and we are simply not satisfied with what we have done in the past, Mr. James said. We want to continue to grow and we believe that the House of Thirty is the next step in ensuring a future for our children and families.
This effort is an extension of the I Promise School, which the James Foundation opened in 2018 and since then has expanded housing and access to community centres to further support the at-risk students the charity aims to help.
My mother was literally one of those parents. I’m from a single-parent family. I’m not from around here. James said we came out of nowhere. My mom didn’t work. She was a single mother. She was 16 years old, attended Central High School in Akron, Ohio, and was pregnant in her second year of high school. And then, unfortunately, my grandmother died when I was three. My mother was 19. So we’ve been through hell and back, you might say. But we never signaled.
