Saturday is officially Power Rangers Dino Fury day, and although it’s a little later than I originally planned, I had some thoughts on tonight’s new Dino Fury episode, New Recruits, which introduces the green and black Ranger team. Dino Fury is off to a great start, and the mood among fans in tonight’s episode was pretty positive as well. Before we get to the community feedback, I have some thoughts on this episode. So you can check out my full review of The New Recruits below (with spoilers in mind, so you’ve been warned).
New Recruits was probably the most traditional installment of the series in terms of how the action unfolded, but that didn’t stop it from being just as delightful as the first three, thanks to the wonderful dynamics between the cast and the brilliant action scenes, and the newcomers (see what I did there? I’m looking at myself…) only make this team more dynamic and leave a great impression from the start.
Russell Curry’s Zayto remains the glue that holds the team and the show together, and the banter and clashing personalities between Amelia and Ollie are one of the most entertaining aspects of the show so far. All of these elements continue to develop and strengthen in episode 4, although the impressive Tessa Rao and Chance Perez already seem to have found a place for their characters, despite only appearing in one episode.
Rao is particularly good and is also responsible for one of the best moments of the episode when, after becoming the Green Ranger, she rips the skirt off her uniform and says she’s just not a skirt girl. It’s a quick moment, but very well done, and yet it’s another way to develop Izzy’s personality and character without using 5 minutes of exposition or a longer but perhaps heavier moment, and maintaining that pace and balance is something Dino Fury does very well.
The Sporix themselves have been pretty shaky so far, and Boomtower isn’t exactly memorable, but who cares who they fight. So far, Dino Fury has mostly dealt with the big battle (finding Spore and communicating with the House of Zayto) and dealt with the Rangers as humans. So far, the series is doing very well on both fronts, and there are no indications that it will stop anytime soon.

The mix of humor and action is well received by fans, some calling this the best season of Power Rangers in years.
I just watched episode 4 of #DinoFury. The rip in the skirt was iconic, I don’t see how anyone could have a problem with that. The series continues to be laughs for all ages, and the first fight scene, especially with Javi, was great. @Pookina1 and the gang kill him. Best PR in years!

Fans absolutely love Izzy and Javi, and the show has kept the momentum going from the first episode.
WOW! #DinoFury has done it again. This episode was fantastic, with great music/collaboration/composition, and even the humor was good. Izzy and Javi are definitely the new fan favorites.
