AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE Ramos leaves Real Madrid, the hunt for Mbappe continues

The future of Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos seems far away from the Bernabeu, according to Cadena SER.

Ramos, 34, would be unhappy if Madrid did not do enough to extend his contract, which expires this summer. The defender had hoped to negotiate a new contract before the end of January, but it never got off the ground.

Speculations that Madrid are looking to sign Bayern Munich’s David Alaba as a free agent and that Ramos has an offer from PSG seem to be cooling the discussion.

Meanwhile, Madrid are looking to sign PSG striker Kylian Mbappe, who is interested in a switch to their new home, according to Marca.

Mbappe, 22, is under contract with Paris Saint-Germain until June 2022 and has asked for more time to think about his future due to the financial crisis caused by the COWID-19 pandemic.

PSG have reportedly offered the French star a contract extension, but an agreement has not yet been reached. Madrid are one of the clubs in the running to contract him this summer, despite a net debt of around €355 million. They want to make sure they get the green light for a €100m move if Mbappe decides not to extend his stay in Paris.

2200 GMT: This will be for the final edition of our blog LIVE Transfer Talk. We hope you enjoy following us and remind you to come back soon for the latest transfer rumours, reports and offers. Good night. Good night.

21:33 GMT: Angel Di Maria is 32 years old and out of contract at the end of the season, but he will not be returning to his native Argentina.

According to Calciomercato, Di Maria has ruled out a return to the boys from Rosario Central for now as he wants to continue playing at the highest level in Europe. El Fideo has been linked with Juventus and Tottenham in recent weeks.

The Argentine has already stated that he would like to end his career at Rosario Central.

20:58 GMT: Napoli already have a Mexican in the squad with Hirving Lozano, but could another one join Chucky at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium soon?

Sources told Mediotiempo that Chivas winger Uriel Antuna, once signed with Man City, has attracted interest from the Italian side, specifically from Lozano to Napoli. Antuna has already scored four goals and seven assists since returning to La Liga MX with Chivas last year. He previously played alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic for LA Galaxy in the MLS.

Negotiations have not yet begun, but the qualities of Mr Antunas, 23, suggest that he could return to Europe in the future, the report said.

8:22 P.M. GREENWICH MEAN TIME: Big Sam seem close to getting the striker they want, while Mbaye Diagne will undergo a medical in Turkey today before heading to West Brom, reports Sky.

Mbaye Diagne is on medical leave in Turkey today before leaving for West Brom.

– Sky Sports Premier League (@SkySportsPL) January 28, 2021

The 29-year-old Senegalese would be on loan until the end of the season, but it remains to be seen whether the Baggies will have an option to buy. Diagne, who has scored nine times in 15 games this season, is expected to lead a WBA attack that has scored just 15 times in 20 games this season – a shot in the arm that is sorely needed.

The striker, who has already played for Juventus, has played in France, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, Hungary, China and Turkey. He led the Turkish Super League in 2018-19 with 30 goals (in 27 games).

19.41 GMT: According to Sky, West Ham are close to a ManUnited loan of Jesse Lingard.

Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol reports that West Ham have now offered a total of £1.5 million – plus Lingard’s salary – to loan him out for the rest of the season, but they have yet to hear from Man Utd.

Earlier this week, West Ham converted Saeed Benrahma’s summer loan into a permanent deal, opening the door for West Ham to bring another loaned player to the home market.

19:06 GMT: Nashville SC have loaned Ghanaian striker David Accam to Swedish club Hammarby.

Varmt välkommen tot Hammarby, @iamdavidaccam! #Bajen är örvens med Accams nuvarande klubb @NashvilleSC och MLS om ett lån över 2021, med option på ytterligare ett år.

– Hammarbyfotboll (@Hammarbyfotboll) January 28, 2021

The operation initially consists of a 12-month loan to the Swedish club, after which they have the option to buy the 30-year-old permanently. Accam scored 41 goals in 131 MLS games between Chicago, Philadelphia, Columbus and Nashville, including a goal in seven games for promoted Nashville.

Akkam is well known in Sweden, having already played for Ostersunds and Helsingborgs from 2012 to 2014.

18:32 GMT: The American Fasundo Pellistri may soon be on loan.

The 19-year-old, who was recruited by Penarol this summer, has not yet played for United’s first team but he has impressed in the U-23 squad. According to Goal.com, United have opened talks with Liga Alaves to loan out the Uruguayan winger until the end of the season. United gave Pellistri the freedom to look for valuable game time, and it seems he has found it at Alaves.

There were talks and some clubs were interested in Fasundo’s loan. Maybe now that he has played a few games in the reserves and we want him to play regular high level football, we will let him play, Solskjaer said at a press conference Tuesday afternoon.

18.01 GMT: Can Cenk Tosun return to Besiktas?

The little-used Everton FC striker has been linked with his old club and CSKA Moscow and broached the subject in an interview with NTV Spurs.

If Everton and Beşiktaş come to an agreement, I’m ready to wear the black and white shirt again. I would like to be part of Beşiktaş until the end of the season. If Everton agree to the transfer, it’s a no-brainer for me.

The 29-year-old Turkish international has scored just 11 goals in 58 appearances for Everton since leaving Besiktas for £27m. He previously played for the Turkish giants between 2014-18. Earlier in the day Everton loaned another forgotten striker, Yannick Bolasie, to Middlesbrough.

17.26 GMT : Fulham’s strugglers may really need a mobile striker before the end of the window, but any chance of getting one probably depends on moving some unwanted players first.

Midfielder Stefan Johansen was recently loaned out to QPR and it looks like midfielder Jean-Michael Seri will be next. Foot Mercato understand that negotiations are underway with Bordeaux over a loan deal that would bring the Ivorian back to Ligue 1. The biggest obstacle at the moment is the player’s salary, which Fulham are hoping the French are willing to pay most of.

The 29-year-old, who signed for Fulham in 2018, has simply not adapted to life in the Premier League and made just two cup appearances for the Whites in 2020-21 after a loan spell in Turkey at Galatasaray last season.

16:58 GMT: Real Madrid are after teenager Eduardo Camavanga, but could the 18-year-old midfielder stay at Rennes after his current contract expires in June 2022?

My change of agent? These things happen, we shouldn’t focus on them, he said at the press conference. I just believe in my parents. Can I sign an extension? Yes. Do I want it? Yes. What does that mean? I don’t know. There are negotiations. If you want to talk about it, there’s my dad… It was you journalists who were talking about me leaving, but I am 100% focused on the club.

16:13 GMT: Is West Bromwich Albion facing a possible relegation battle? As reported by ESPN’s David Cartledge, Sam Allardyce’s side have agreed to bring Turkish international Okey Yokuslu to England.

The midfielder, who can also be used as a central defender, will be on loan to the club until the end of the season with no option to buy. The 26-year-old was at a disadvantage at Celta Vigo and the WBA were scrambling for a deal. Although the move was called off last week, the clubs have now reached an agreement.

15:47 GMT: Arsenal have loaned Martin Odegaard out to Real Madrid. But will he play?

Jan Eige Fjortoft has a scoop on Martin Odegaard’s move to Arsenal.

14.58 GMT : Swansea City want to add American winger Paul Arriola to their squad, a source told Tom Hamilton, ESPN.

The championship contender has already picked up Jordan Morris, on loan from the Seattle Sounders, and is also interested in Arriola.

According to some sources, there is a 50/50 chance that the move will happen before Monday’s deadline as loan negotiations are underway. The USMNT international is encouraged by the fact that the majority shareholder in Washington, D.C., Jason Levien, is also a co-owner of Swansea.

14:35 GMT: Di Marzio also says French Ligue 1 club Nice are in talks with Barcelona to sign central defender Jean-Claire Thodibault.

Todibo, 21, was loaned by Toulouse to Barcelona in 2019 but failed to find a place in the first team and was loaned out to Schalke and Benfica.

14:21 GMT: This is gonna be crazy…

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Roma have offered Inter Milan striker Edin Jacko a swap deal for Alexis Sanchez.

It’s obvious that Inter would be more open to this idea than having Christian Eriksen join this deal, as they’d have to surrender their payroll and a move for Sanchez (although he only signed this summer) would support this.

13:46 GMT: Mesut Özil is looking forward to starting a new adventure at Fenerbahce after his departure from Arsenal.

13.10 GMT : Juventus have brought in 20-year-old Marseille striker Marli Ake, while 18-year-old midfielder Franco Tondia has been moved.

13.01 GMT : Fiorentina have signed Kevin Malcuit on loan from Naples until the end of the season.

12.55 GMT : Panamanian striker Gabriel Torres is expected to join Pumas to bolster their attack following Juan Dineno’s injury, sources told ESPN Deportes.

Torres, 32, played for Independiente del Valle in Ecuador, but his rights are with the University of Chile. Puma has intensified talks with the Chilean national team in recent days and the striker is expected to arrive in Mexico on Saturday for medical treatment.

12:41 GMT: According to sources from ESPN Argentina, Boca Juniors are interested in signing Fabrizio Bustos from Independiente.

Independiente recently turned down an offer to sign him for $1.5 million. — plus a $2.1 million debt forgiveness for the transfer of Pablo Perez — but according to Augusto Cesar of ESPN, Boca plans to try again.

12:13 GMT: Juventus have reopened talks with Lyon midfielder Hussem Aouard, according to Sky Sport Italia.

The report indicates that Juve have used the imminent signing of Marley Ake to reopen negotiations, as Ake has a common agent with Auer.

Ake is expected to join the club in exchange for Marseille’s Franco Tonguia, and the Bianconeri now want other newcomers, but probably not before the summer.

Aouar, 22, has been linked with a host of big European clubs, including Arsenal, and has scored three goals and provided three assists in 16 Ligue 1 games this season. Lyon want around €45 million for his services.

11:26 GMT: Celtic, Arsenal and Chelsea are all after Hibernian left-back Josh Doig, known to Sky Sports.

Doig, 18, only made his debut in August, but he has grown into a key member of the team and is currently in the interest of several big clubs.

10.52 GMT : Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has made just two appearances on loan at Atletico Madrid and could now switch to Monaco, according to Sky Sports.

Torreira, 24, was struggling to impress in Spain and Fiorentina and Cagliari wanted to bring him back to Serie A after he played for Sampdoria.

However, Atletico Madrid must agree to a reduction in the loan fee before a deal can be reached, although talks with Monaco are currently underway.

10:31 GMT: Manchester United could turn to Hoffenheim midfielder Christoph Baumgartner in the summer.

ESPN FC’s Mark Ogden talks about Christoph Baumgartner’s place at Manchester United in Hoffenheim.

09.53 GMT : Athletic are reporting that Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmore is considering a loan transfer from Stamford Bridge before the transfer window closes next week.

Gilmour, 19, has barely played this season but was part of Frank Lampard’s plans for the second half of the season. But now that Thomas Tuchel has replaced Lampard, the Scottish U-21 international can continue to look for more game time.

09.31 GMT : Martin Odegaard is leaving Real Madrid again, this time on loan to Arsenal – a poor performance for a club that doesn’t really care about young talent, writes Sid Lowe.

Martin Odegaard told Real Madrid this week that he wants to retire. He wanted to play, he didn’t want to wait. The last time we saw him, he was just running around the field and only training after the game. He only started three times. He has never played a full 90 minutes. In total, he has only been on the field for 242 minutes this season. There were no goals, no help. Last season he played in all but two games, scoring four goals and providing five assists. Mariano Diaz, Eder Militao, Luka Jovic, Alvaro Odriozola and Andrei Lunin played the least.

It was always possible, but probably not to this extent. Real Madrid is different; the competition is fiercer, opportunities are rare and continuity is even rarer. Patience may be a virtue, but they have neither time nor space for personal development.

09.04 GMT : Dele Alli is facing anxious anticipation over his proposed move to Paris Saint-Germain, while Tottenham general manager Daniel Levy is reluctant to let the midfielder go, sources told ESPN’s James Olley.

Former Spurs coach Mauricio Pochettino wants to see Alli back in France.

Sources told ESPN that Alli is in favour of the swap and that Mourinho is willing to let him go, but that Levy appears to be the biggest stumbling block.

0830 GMT: Fluminense striker Marcos Paulo will join Atletico Madrid this summer, according to AS.

Paulo, 19, signed a five-year contract with the Rojiblensos, but stayed until he was 30. June, when his contract expires, to stay with Fluminense.

The Brazilian star, who played for Portugal’s national youth teams, was free to negotiate with Atletico and decided not to sign a new contract at his club.

Dortmund wants to contract Locatelli

Borussia Dortmund want to sign Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli, according to Sport 1.

Although it is far from confirmed, Dortmund could reportedly have their eyes on Italy if they want to freshen up their midfield.

The long road to credit Moving to England

New York Red Bulls and USMNT central defender Aaron Long are on the verge of an England loan deal, according to Sky Sports.

The report suggests that Mr Long will follow in the footsteps of Seattle Sounders striker Jordan Morris, who has just joined Swansea on a temporary transfer to the league. This comes a year after West Ham United rejected his loan deal for Long.

The paper adds that at least one English second division team has attempted to contract the defender, who has 18 caps with the United States.
