MAIN STORY : Barca want triple deal to buy City stars – Jesus, Laporta and Gündogan
Barcelona have already contracted Sergio Aguero and Erik Garcia, whose contracts at Manchester City expire at the end of June. However, according to two sports reports, the Catalan giants are targeting three more players from Pep Guardiola’s team. 2 Connected According to initial reports, they will opt for central defender Aymeric Laporta, who like Garcia has struggled to find a place in the squad this season, ahead of Ruben Diaz and John Stones. It has even been suggested that Barcelona could consider including right-back and midfielder Sergi Roberto in a swap deal to reduce the transfer fee for the proposed move. It could also help them complete the deals outlined in the second report, the first of which involves Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus. As previously reported, Barcelona have already confirmed that Aguero will join them, while Lyon striker Memphis Depay could sign for a free transfer when his contract expires this summer. So it is claimed that Joan Laporta will only want to sign Jesus if the deal is unmanageable. Finally, Barcelona have their eye on German midfielder Ilkay Gündogan, who has played an important role in City’s squad this season. The 30-year-old is seen as an alternative to Georginio Wijnaldum, who is now on the verge of a move from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain. – Daily ESPN FC coverage on ESPN+ (US only) – Euro 2020 on ESPN: Live games and replays (US only)
