The NHS pays GPs in England a supplement of £10 for each domestic patient who receives the coronavirus vaccine.
Doctors give injections to at-risk individuals at home, but also give vaccinations in the workplace.
The £10 bonus reflects the extra time invested by staff, as well as “the complexity of vaccinating people who stayed at home,” according to NHS England.
Some general practitioners in cities administer the vaccine daily to more than 100 people, including patients with diseases such as dementia.
Meanwhile, ambulance workers in rural areas fought the wind and heavy snowfall to reach patients at home.
The premium is retroactive and applies to all vaccinations already performed.

But some people said the efforts of carers and nurses were being ignored by NHS bosses.
One nurse tweeted, “It would be nice if there was also additional funding for #structuring the #community. Maybe while they are here, the GPs can take care of their own patients they ask us to see”.
More than 11 million people have already received their first dose of vaccine, and ministers are “confident” that all adults will receive their first dose by May.
More than 1,000 general practices are part of the NHS immunization program, as are 250 hospitals and nearly 200 services provided by street pharmacies.
Eighteen other venues, including Leeds United FC’s Elland Road Stadium, will offer vaccinations starting tomorrow.
This means that more than 100 major centers now offer the vaccine.
Health Minister Matt Hancock said, “Thanks to our historic immunization program, one in five adults has already been vaccinated, and we’re going further and faster.”
We are right to give general practitioners the resources they need to provide vaccinations to the most vulnerable people who cannot leave their homes, or those who live in rural areas.”
I am very proud of and grateful to the thousands of NHS staff, volunteers, authorities and local forces who work tirelessly across the UK providing millions of life-saving injections to those who need them most.”
Dr Nikki Kanani, GP and medical director of primary care in the NHS, also praised GPs for their “tremendous efforts” to vaccinate people and make the vaccination program a priority.
