To get a good understanding of the situation, it’s important to know that Ronaldo has two main agents: Jorge Mendes and Simon de Quieroz. The former runs Ronaldo’s affairs for him, while the latter is a consultant for Mendes; they represent a large number of top players in the world, and are instrumental in the transfer market. The Ronaldo-Juventus situation has been a tense one: after four years at the Juventus, Ronaldo returned to United and signed a new £300,000-a-week, four-year deal in the summer of 2018.

It’s been five years since Cristiano Ronaldo left Old Trafford for the Bernabeu in a world record £80m move after nine seasons with the Red Devils. After everything he’d achieved, it was hard to believe that Ronaldo would leave but that’s exactly what happened. The Madrid outfit also offered him bonuses of £30m each year, which he couldn’t turn down.

The events over the following two months will have a significant effect on the UFC’s middleweight division in 2022.

Right now, Israel Adesanya (21-1) is the division’s uncontested king, and keeping that title is his sole objective for the foreseeable future. Adesanya had ambitions to dominate the light heavyweight class and face Jon Jones in a superfight, but his dreams were dashed when he was defeated by 205-pound champion Jan Blachowicz in March.

Adesanya’s next opponent will be former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker in a rematch, although that fight isn’t anticipated to happen until early next year. After that, what happens? That will be decided in the next two months.

Jared Cannonier’s victory against Kelvin Gastelum two weeks ago was a major step forward in his quest for a UFC championship opportunity. The next domino will fall on Saturday afternoon in Las Vegas, when Darren Till (18-3-1) squares off against Derek Brunson (22-7) in the main event of a matinée UFC Fight Night.

Derek Brunson enters Saturday’s battle against Darren Till on a four-bout winning streak, as both UFC middleweights want to place themselves in contention for the championship.

Till, from Liverpool, England, is one of the sport’s most popular characters, and a title battle between him and Adesanya would be a big attraction for the UFC. Even though Till is 1-1 as a middleweight and 1-3 in his last four bouts, there’s a good possibility his next fight will be for a championship if he wins this weekend and Adesanya wins his next fight.

On Oct. 23, a five-round bout between Paulo Costa and Marvin Vettori will be the last domino to fall. Both Costa and Vettori are coming off defeats to Adesanya in their most recent fights, so they’ll need several victories to get a rematch as long as Adesanya stays at the top. However, the winner of their battle will have a significant impact on the near landscape of 185.

Of course, between now and the end of the year, the UFC may try to schedule another big middleweight bout, but I don’t see that happening. By the end of this weekend, we’ll have a pretty good sense of how this division will look, and by the end of October 23, we’ll have a very good idea.

As a result, the year 2022 will most likely begin with a rematch between Adesanya and Whittaker for the championship. And, depending on what occurs in 2021, the table will be set for whatever comes next.

The main card of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night begins at 4 p.m. ET, with the prelims starting at 1:30 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

“I’ll say this: Till is a lot faster than we give him credit for — simply his natural, instinctual quickness,” UFC announcer and MMA instructor Din Thomas stated. “He’s faster with his hands and feet than you believe. Even though he doesn’t move much, his reflexes are quicker than you would expect. But I don’t believe he’ll be able to stop Brunson in time. Brunson, in my opinion, is much more powerful than most people believe. His takedowns are more impressive than most people realize. Brunson, I believe, will defeat Darren Till and may possibly finish him.”

After Ciryl Gane (7), Francis Ngannou (5), and Marcin Tybura (5), the winner will have the fourth-longest UFC heavyweight streak (5). Ricky Turcios, the eventual Season 29 winner, defeated Sholinian in the semifinals of The Ultimate Fighter. If Shore raises his hand, he will tie for the best record among UFC fighters with Movsar Evloev.
