“The Big Short” is about people who saw the housing market collapse coming and decided to play the market against the system, knowing full well what they were doing was wrong. But as any gambler will tell you, there’s a difference between a smart gambler and a stupid gambler, and the movie is a story of a smart gambler. Moviegoers reacted to the blockbuster’s credits scene with a collective groan, but many of them were also applauding the movie’s honesty.

On Thursday, the stars of the latest Marvel superhero blockbuster, “Black Panther”, took to the red carpet at the film’s premiere in Los Angeles. The cast and crew were out in force ahead of the highly anticipated premiere, and we were there too. The cast and crew introduced the crowd to the cast and director of the film, and the crowd was psyched.

Moviegoers are used to waiting in lines for tickets to see the latest film. But at the same time, they don’t want to miss the credits rolling by. But what happens when an audience member actually does miss it? Is that person in danger of being turned into a human popsicle?

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings concludes with a one-two punch of post-credits sequences, both of which set up the martial arts master’s (Simu Liu) future in Marvel’s Phase 4 universe. Warning: There will be spoilers for Shang-Chi. Wong (Benedict Wong) calls Shang-Chi and Katy (Awkwafina) to the New York Sanctum after beating his father Wenwu (Tony Leung), the legendary commander of the Ten Rings organization who possesses the ancient alien technology that gives the group its name. “We have a lot to speak about,” the Master of the Mystic Arts says as he takes a shot and walks through a Sling Ringed-portal conjured up in front of Shang-Chi and Katy’s dubious pals. What occurs next is as follows.

Shang-Chi and Katy appear in the mid-credits sequence as spectators to a human Bruce Banner’s (Mark Ruffalo) examination of the Rings, in which he rules out Wakanda’s Vibranium and wonders whether they’re Chitauri technology. “They’re not like any extraterrestrial technology I’ve encountered,” says Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), who arrives in Avengers: Endgame via holographic projection.

When Banner mentions that the Rings are millennia old, Wong claims that their energy is so strong that it can be felt all the way in the mystical realm of Kamar-Taj. Captain Marvel describes Shang-use Chi’s of the Rings as a “beacon,” and Banner adds, “They’re sending a message.”

“A message to whom?” Shang-Chi wonders. The question remains unanswered.

Shang-Chi concludes with his estranged sister Xialing (Meng’er Zhang) taking over the family business as the next Ten Rings commander. “The Ten Rings Will Return,” says the message at the conclusion.

Here’s what moviegoers had to say about Shang-mini-Endgame Chi’s reunion finale on opening night:

No spoilers, but #ShangChi’s first post-credits sequence is almost a short film, and I’m here for it.

I’m still not sure how to respond to one of the characters participating in the #shangchi mid-credits scene???? I wasn’t expecting to see them like that, and I’m not sure what it implies for their future participation in the series, but it was great.

Both post-credits sequences were also quite enjoyable. Obviously, no spoilers, but I’m looking forward to seeing Shang-Chi interact with additional Avengers, as well as how “certain elements” of this film influence Phase 4 and beyond.

You’re going to freak out when you see the post-credits sequences #shangchi

Okay, #ShangChi was incredible. It’s one of, if not the greatest, Marvel films to date. It comes highly recommended from me. I suggest seeing it in the movies if you are okay with it. If you haven’t seen it yet, you should certainly watch it on VOD. There are also two post-credits sequences that you should not miss.
