Western India, is also known as the west coast of India. This region consists of the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, and Karnataka. It is located in the western part of India, adjacent to the Arabian Sea.

With its signature spices and coconut oil as a cooking medium, vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisines are equally popular.  Maharashtra, on the other hand, has some of the best vineyards in India and the Nasik and Sangli districts are the largest wine producing areas in the country.

In Mumbai and the northern Konkan regions, winters are cooler, with minimum temperatures around 12°C. In the interior of Maharashtra, summers are hot, with maximum temperatures averaging 40°C, and winters are mild, with minimum temperatures averaging 10°C. Gujarat also has a warm climate with hot summers and cool winters.
