When the Tampa Bay Buccaneers face the Cincinnati Bengals in their first preseason game on Saturday at Raymond James Stadium, quarterback Tom Brady is anticipated to participate. Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians made the statement during the team’s training camp press conference on Monday, stating he intends to use all of his players against the Bengals. Arians told reporters that “everyone will play,” but that Brady’s time on the field would be determined by the coaching staff. “It’s usually a drive or two. It won’t be many,” Arians said.

Brady, 44, just had surgery to repair a ruptured MCL in his left knee and hopes to get some repetitions during the preseason, according to CBS Sports’ Jeff Kerr.

After guiding the Buccaneers to their first Super Bowl victory since 2002 by playing most of the season with a torn MCL, Brady spent the most of his summer rehabilitating his knee. Brady, on the other hand, announced in a tweet that he is ready to begin his 22nd season in the NFL. Given that the preseason has been shortened from four to three games, Arians also said that the coaching staff would decide how much time each player gets on the field. “I’m not sure how much,” Arians added, “but everyone will play the first game.” On August 1, the Buccaneers will face the Tennessee Titans.

22 and the Texans of Houston on Aug. 29. On September 9, the Buccaneers will begin their Super Bowl championship defense against the Dallas Cowboys.

After yet another poor session, Arians urges his offense to mature.

During the news conference, Arians was forthright in his assessment of the offense’s practice on Monday. According to Luke Easterling of USA Today, Arians stated, “It was arguably the worst offensive session we’ve seen in three years.”

During training camp, Arians noted that the offense had a history of suffering in practice following an off day. “They just have to grow up and man up,” Arians stated, according to Easterling, citing a tweet from Buccaneers.com’s Carmen Vitali. The first-team offense did not score in the red zone, according to Easterling, and receivers battled with drops throughout practice.

While praising the team’s defense for showing up throughout training camp, Arians critiqued the offense’s performance.

Brate will be removed off the PUP list.

According to Buccaneers.com’s Scott Smith, tight end Cameron Brate has been removed off the active/physically unable to perform (PUP) list, allowing him to return to practice. Due to an unknown ailment, the Buccaneers put the veteran tight end on the injured reserve list before the start of training camp. The tight end appeared in all 20 games for the Buccaneers, including regular season and playoffs. In the regular season, he had 28 receptions for 282 yards and two touchdowns, and in the playoffs, he had 14 grabs for 175 yards and another touchdown.

He started the season as the third-string tight end behind Rob Gronkowski and O.J. Howard, but when Howard went down with an Achilles tendon injury, his role grew.
